C P Radhakrishnan Files Nomination for Vice President

NDA’s vice presidential candidate C P Radhakrishnan has officially filed his nomination at Parliament House. The formal submission was witnessed by top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President J P Nadda, and Law Minister Kiren Rijiju.

Senior leaders from NDA allies also attended the event. Chirag Paswan of LJP (R), Rajiv Ranjan Singh of JD (U), and Praful Patel of NCP were present in support. Their presence highlighted the unity of the alliance behind Radhakrishnan’s candidature.

Before entering Parliament, Radhakrishnan paid floral tributes at Prerna Sthal. This memorial space inside the Parliament complex honors India’s great leaders and freedom fighters. He began by bowing before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. He then paid respects to other national icons enshrined at the site.

The gesture reflected deep reverence for India’s democratic values and historical legacy. It also marked a moment of solemnity ahead of a key constitutional election.

The vice-presidential election is scheduled for September 9. The results will be announced shortly after. The role of the Vice President includes presiding over the Rajya Sabha and stepping in as acting President when needed.

Radhakrishnan’s nomination filing was peaceful, dignified, and widely supported across the NDA coalition. His candidacy underscores the alliance’s focus on unity, tradition, and service.

All eyes now turn to the voting day, where elected members of both Houses of Parliament will cast their ballots.
